Painting and Collage – An Abstract Art Class

Artist Susan Stevens says her class appeals to seasoned artists as well as people who were (mistakenly) told they had no talent!

She guides you through a variety of techniques, using typical and untraditional tools: brushes, straws, scrapers, squeegees, and splattering with acrylic paint. Once your work is complete, you cut or tear it up to form swatches.  Then you assemble the swatches, much like a patchwork quilt or a mosaic, gluing the pieces down when you are happy with the result. You will be surprised & amazed at how good they look!

A collage artist. Susan Stevens studied figure drawing, landscape, still life, and portraits. Susan searched for her own expression by combining techniques to create her own abstract compositions. She also works with fabric to create collage-like patchwork art.
